Broadband Speed and VoIP Test

Postby Taehoon on Wed Sep 12, 2007 8:42 pm

When testing out my new True QoS system here at the home office I came across a broadband connection analysis tool. The tool designed by Ookla Net Metrics has a huge selection of geographically dispersed testing servers. During the use of this tool it provided me the time I needed for tweaking and tuning my QoS system further. Since the tool downloads and uploads data it naturally will degrade your performance online (at peak).

My performance at peak:
Fastest Download:
8797 kb/s
Fastest Upload:
2343 kb/s

My performance normally:

Update: Also found another website which offers VoIP testing by Visualware.

Test your Internet Connection for VoIP Performance

After installing the MyVoIPSpeed PC software found it uses a non standard port in which you may have to enable DMZ temporarily until the test is complete.

Update: Found another excellent website. Testmy.net Broadband Community
